Truck slams into trailer home, causes Driscoll to lose power

DRISCOLL, TEXAS — A significant crash causes the city of Driscoll to lose power.

The crash happened just after 12:15 p.m. Tuesday on US 77 in Driscoll, Texas.

According to police, an elderly couple that was traveling northbound on US 77 passing Farm Market 665 when the elderly male driver suffered a medical episode.

The driver lost consciousness, veered off the road, and slammed into a trailer home. The Driscoll police chief said the crashed caused an electrical transformer to go down, and an RV trailer was engulfed in flames. The city of Driscoll temporarily lost power as a result of the crash.

People were inside the trailer home when the vehicle struck the residence. They were taken to a hospital.

The male driver is in stable condition.

There were no reports of serious injuries.
