CORPUS CHRISTI — We're in for another long, hot summer day today due to the massive heat dome over the Southern Plains. We're looking at a high of 98 degrees, with a heat index of 112, and that in the range where you need to be careful while working outdoors.

By Thursday, the massive ridge is forecast to drift to the west, which means Arizona and New Mexico will be under the heat dome while parts of Texas will see a slight drop in temperatures. It'll be better, but still hot.

Today: Sunny and very hot. High 98.

Tuesday: Sunny and very hot. High 99.

Wednesday: Sunny and very hot. High 99.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and hot. High 96.

Friday: Mostly sunny and hot. High 96.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and hot. High 95.
