CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Astros pulled off a huge trade just moments before the deadline today as get former Cy Young Award winner Zack Greinke from Arizona.
The trade was costly as the Astros gave up four of their top minor-league prospects, including a couple of Hooks players who once were first-rounders.
Done deal.

The #Dbacks have acquired pitchers Corbin Martin and J.B. Bukauskas, infielder/outfielder Seth Beer, and infielder Joshua Rojas from the Astros in exchange for Zack Greinke and cash considerations. pic.twitter.com/qAN7ejWjZb
Among them was pitcher J.B. Bukauskas and leftfielder Seth Beer.
The slugging outfielder was the Astros’ No. 1 pick a year ago and had been enjoying a monster season.
He split time with Fayetteville and Corpus Christi with a combined .314 batting average and 25 home runs.
You hate to see a player with this kind of talent get away, but the Astros had to pull the trigger to get a quality pitcher like Greinke.
