HOUSTON, Tx. — The Houston Astros announced two more additions to their 2021 coaching staff today.

Dan Fivora, a Refugio native, will join the staff as a quality control coach replacing Chris Speier who retired in 2020.

Fivora has spent time both in major league baseball and under manager Dusty Baker. He served as the bullpen coach for the Washington Nationals in 2016-2017 when Baker was the manager there.

Prior to that, Firova enjoyed a long run of success as a manager for 19 seasons in the Mexican League.

He won three championships as the manager of the Mexico City Tigres.

Fivora was also a player in the 1980's.
