It is the calm before here In Houston this morning. And in just a few hours Minute Maid Park will be packed to brim for Game 2 of the 2019 World Series as the Astros look to tie the series up at 1.

The Astros fell to the Washington Nationals last night, 5-4, and they now find themselves in an early hole. However, it is a place they are familiar with: The Astros historically have an 0-3 record after Game 1 of the World Series.

The story last night for Houston was its lack of hits with runners in scoring position, an issue that has plagued the team all postseason. Last night the Astros stranded nine runners in scoring position.

For the Nationals, 20-year-old star Juan Soto was the toast of the town, going 3 of 4 with a home run.

Today the Astros will turn to their star, Justin Verlander, to try and slow down the Nationals' offense. It will be his fifth World Series start.

Stephen Strasburg takes the mound for the Nationals in his World Series debut.
