CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was an exciting night for the Islanders women's basketball team after a long off season as they finally played their season tonight.
Coach Royce Chadwick returns a lot of experience this season with eight seniors on this team.
The Islanders were hosting the University of St. Thomas from Houston.
It was a good night for the local team, which cruised to a 75-55 opening-game victory.
And speaking of the Islanders, the men’s team kicks off the season tomorrow night against Louisiana Tech. You can watch it live on our sister station KDF-TV, beginning at 7 p.m.
