Islanders men's basketball snaps two game losing streak

CORPUS CHRISTI, Tx. — The Texas A&M Corpus Christi men's basketball team completed the Saturday sweep of Lamar after beating the Cardinals 64-58.

The win snaps a two game losing streak for the Islanders and gives them a 7-12 overall record and improves their conference record to 3-5.

Jordan Hairston continued his fantastic freshman season putting up 23 points, his 6th double digit scoring perfomance of the season.

Myles Smith was also a steady force throughout the game contributing 14 points.

The Islanders pulled away late in the second half to give the team a win, overcoming a stretch of games in which the could not close.

The Islanders will hit the road for their next two games, taking on the University of New Orleans on Wednesday and the University of the Incarnate Word on Saturday.
