CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Islanders womens basketball team defeated Abilene Christian 68-59 Saturday to complete the season sweep of the defending conference champions.
With the win, the Islanders improve to 17-7 overall, They are now tied for second place in the conference with an 11-3 record.
Alexes Bryant led the team in scoring with 16 points as Alecia Westbrook chipped in with 14.
The Islanders' next game will be Wednesday when they host Southeastern Louisiana. That game will be at the Dugan Wellness Center and tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
