CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Hooks will take the field for Game 2 of their four-game series against the Midland Rockhounds tonight.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. and we’ll have the highlights tonight.

But last night, two fireworks shows lit up Whataburger Field. One of them coming in the form of home runs and a major offensive outburst and then the post-game pyrotechnics.

The Hooks defeated the Rockhounds, 22-5. Everyone in the Hooks lineup had at least one hit and at least one RBI. The 22-run explosion was led by Colton Shaver who went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer early in the game.

And Seth Beer was 5-for-6 with two RBI.

The Hooks’ offense has exploded since the All-Star break despite their record sitting below .500. They have driven in 44 runs in their last three games and last night's 22 runs scored was the second-highest mark in franchise history

We'll have more on that in just a second. As of late the offense has been charged by Beer, a rookie who was called up from Single A just a couple short months ago and he's been driving this offense to its full potential.

In tonight’s game, it will be George Springer Bobblehead Night. It’s well worth getting to the game a little earlier tonight.
