CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It's almost here.

The opening night of the high school football season kicks off Friday night.

Here’s what we know about our Friday Night Fever Marquee Matchup when Tuloso-Midway hooks up with Miller.

This matchup has an interesting scenario. Miller and Tuloso-Midway are district foes, but Friday's game will count only as a non-district game.

And both teams agreed to help each other fill holes in their schedules.

“Coach Miller over there at TM is a good buddy of mine and we are really good friends and we both just wanted to find a game,” Miller coach Justen Evans said. And so, we said hey in a worst case situation we can play each other twice.”

So don't expect either team to show too much before they play each other in their district game on Oct. 30.

We do know Miller looked opening night-ready with their terrific performance in scrimmage action last week against Ingleside.

“You know, they are so fast and so athletic that if you miss a tackle it can turn into a big play,” Tuloso-Midway coach Wade Miller said.

Expect the Warriors to take advantage of their huge offensive line by running the ball and controlling the clock.

“TM, they are going to be very physical coming out,” Miller quarterback Andrew Body said. “We have experience against them from my freshman year, so we know they are going to play physical, so we are going to have to be as physical as them."

And if you can't make it out to Buc Stadium on Friday night, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered. We will be televising the game live on our sister station KDF-TV starting at 7:30 p.m. We hope you will tune in.
