CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Texas A&M Corpus Christi head tennis coach Steve Moore surpassed 500 career wins after his men's and women's teams posted doubleheader victories over Prairie View A&M Monday at The Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.

The 11 time Southland Conference Coach of the Year has guided the Islanders to 25 SLC championships says he thanks his players for buying into what he calls the "three G's". "We are going to be gritty, have gratitude and put the group above ourselves," noted Moore. "Those values have been real pillars for our team".

"He brings us a lot of positive energy to every practice," said women's number one player Camille Townsend. "It has been a great experience to be coached by him".

"I love playing for him and he has been so committed to all the players," said men's number one player Chad Nguyen. "He is such a great guy and we are so impressed by him going for 500 wins already".

While his players are mentally prepared to play, coach Moore says when they get on the court it all comes down to this. "We must focus on having incredible fitness and playing each point with intensity and great footwork".

Those elements have produced great success over the years and continues in 2021. Both the men and women remain undefeated this season.
