CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The "streak" is finally over. The Carroll Tigers snapped a 25-game losing streak with a resounding 40-7 victory over Ray Thursday night at Buc Stadium.

In a game seen live on GameNight South Texas on KDF, the Tigers jumped out to an early 18-0 lead and never looked back.

Wide receiver Andre Sanders scored three times from the wildcat formation and the Tigers defense dominated all night despite starting eight sophomores.

Carroll coach Juan Rodriguez picked up his first win as the Tigers' coach after starting 0-23. He said he never lost faith in his ability to lead a program and wanted to shine the spotlight on his players and staff.

"This win is not about me, it's about all the hard work my players and coaches have put in for such a long, long time," Rodriguez said.

The Tigers and Texans are 1-1 in District 15-5A Divsion I.

Carroll plays Moody next Friday at Cabaniss Field while Ray faces Veterans Memorial at Buc Stadium.
