Soccer fans in the Coastal Bend, get excited.
Corpus Christi FC is about to start their 2019 season.
The team has talent coming from all over the United States. And finally, after months of training, they’re ready to get on the field for the action that really matters.
CCFC is hoping for a packed crowd for the home opener.
“Tomorrow is a chance for our young guys and some of our Corpus Christi talent to show why they are on the squad,” CCFC head coach Sebastian Giraldo said Friday. “Some of the younger guys (will play) since we don’t have our full team. But we have Carlo Lopez, we have Teddy Lippy, Dalton Butler. All developed here in Corpus Christi that will be playing tomorrow night.”
Giraldo hopes the team can continue to be strong at the gate again this season.
“We led the conference last year in attendance,” Giraldo said. “We hope to do the same thing again this year.”
The team will play its first game tonight against FC Thunder over at Jack Dugan Stadium. The match will start at 7 p.m.
