The Ray Texans are all too familiar with must-win scenarios.
Their biggest victory of the season last week won them our Nissan Dealers Friday Night Fever Team of the Week.
For the fourth consecutive season, the Texans were forced to win their final game of the regular season to make the playoffs.
And this year in particularly, things got really dicey after must-wins over Victoria East and Miller.
But when they needed the win, they were able to come through with a wild 63-49 triumph over Victoria West.
The triumph boosted them into the playoffs with a test at 7 p.m. Thursday at Brownsville Pace.
“You know, it comes down to our senior leadership,” Ray coach Craig Charlton said. “I tell you what, we talked about it the other night. The meeting the kids had and they came together and said we drew the line in the sand. And so far, they have shown up and done everything right.”
Talk about a team that demonstrates toughness. It’s the Ray Texans.
