Regardless of the time of day, La Michocana Bakery at 3829 Crosstown is always busy.
You can find it on the Crosstown Expressway near Horn. They are incredibly popular as customers line up early and often for their favorite pastries. The variety of selections is almost endless.
"Everything here is baked freshly on a daily basis," co-owner Cynthia Herrejon said. "And what customers like the most are pumpkin empanadas, pink cake, the marranitos and flour tortillas."
Antonio and Cynthia Herrejon are about to enter their 30th year of owning their bakery and 14th at its current location. They have a couple of secrets that have helped them keep their business afloat during the pandemic.
