CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A local restaurant owner is utilizing a new location to help out during the coronavirus pandemic.
Today's We're Open features Brewster Street Icehouse, 5550 Holly Road, where they are serving up great food like the original location downtown and helping out those who are struggling now.
Like their sister location downtown, operators of the southside location are open seven days a week and are offering curbside pickup and delivery.
And both locations have opened a mini grocery store inside to help those who need staples and can't find them elsewhere.
You can find items like toilet paper, cleaning products, pasta sauce, even gloves and many other hard-to-find items with COVID-19 upon us.
"We have had a lot of people request and even ourselves went to different locations looking for basic essentials and could not find any.," said Sam Canavati, CEO of Durrill Properties. "We talked to our vendors and suppliers and they were able to get us the products we needed and so we decided to bring those on board so the community would not have an issue to fight the crowds at H-E-B. They can drive up and get what they need.”
They have been quick to reach out to various charities donating 850 buns to Metro Ministries and various food products to the Food Bank of Copus Christi.
Brewster Street Icehouse has been around for more than 13 years and have served up more than a million meals.
They plan on being around Corpus Christi for a long time.
