Families arrested in the sweep could be flown to detention centers in Texas and Pennsylvania, where they would await deportation.

The detention centers in Texas have also been the focus of controversy and protests.

Just more than a week ago, a government watchdog report cited overcrowding and unsanitary conditions at border detention centers here.

Today, Vice President Mike Pence will get a first-hand look.

He's arriving in McAllen this afternoon, along with a bipartisan delegation made up of members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

We have a crew covering the Vice President's visit and you can see those reports later today on KRIS 6 News.
