CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Speeding may be to blame for a crash that happened early Friday morning on SPID near Ayers.
Police were called to the area around 2:30am.
CCPD Senior Officer Billy Gaines says the driver was headed westbound on SPID when he failed to control speed and struck a guardrail.
The driver was the only person in the car at the time.
He was able to get out before the car caught on fire.
No word on whether that driver will be ticketed or face any charges.
