CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An unaccompanied veteran burial will be conducted for Private First Class William Conely Carroll Jr. at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Coastal Bend Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

PFC Carroll is not expected to have anyone attend his burial. Members of the Corpus Christi community are encouraged to attend to help ensure this veteran is not buried alone.

Carroll served from April 1970 to March 1972. He trained as an airborne parachutist at Airborne School in Ft. Benning, Ga. During his service, Carroll was awarded a Parachutist Badge, a National Defense Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, a Sharpshooter Badge on the M-16 platform, and an Expert Badge on the M-14 platform.

Carroll will be buried with full military honors.

The ceremony is sponsored by the Texas Veterans Land Board, who works with the local community and fellow Veterans service organizations to ensure that no veteran is left behind.
