CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Tuesday is National Pizza Day.
For centuries, pizza was primarily a dish enjoyed in Italy. But in the early 20th century, the first American-style pizza shops popped up in New York and New Jersey.
So just how popular is pizza? According to the National Association of Pizza Operators, about three billion pizzas are sold in the U.S. each year.
To celebrate National Pizza Day, House of Rock in Corpus Christi restaurant will be hosting its fifth annual National Pizza Day celebration on Tuesday.

The giveaway hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
