CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The US Census Bureau is recruiting across the country for the 2020 population count.
Job opportunities are available right here in the Coastal Bend.
The United States Constitution requires a census of the population once every 10 years.
Census data determines how billions of dollars from federal funds will be distributed and used to states and local communities.
From March 12 through July 31, you will have the opportunity to respond to the census.
"It's really important that we get these 4,000 applications because we want to hire
local people to work with our local residents." said Census Coordinator Mary Jane Garza.
Census workers can earn as much as $18.50 an hour.
