New Texas voting bill passed into law on Tuesday

Abbott says law will make it easier to vote, harder to cheat

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Senate Bill 1, which focuses on the integrity of Texas elections, passed today.

A statement from Gov. Greg Abbott said the bill will make it easier to vote and harder to cheat.

The bill includes uniform statewide voting hours and prohibits drive-through voting and bans the distribution of unsolicited applications for mail-in ballots.

Abbott says he looks forward to signing the bill into law.
