MCALLEN, Texas — Democratic Vice President candidate Kamala Harris' trip to Texas on Friday will include another stop as she plans to visit the Rio Grande Valley, her campaign announced.
Joe Biden's running mate now plans to visit McAllen to go along with previously scheduled trips to Fort Worth and Houston during the Texas swing.
The trip to McAllen is notable as the Hispanic vote in Tuesday's election will be critical. It comes after a recent New York Times/Siena College poll gives Donald Trump a 4 percent lead in the state bolstered by his appeal with Hispanic voters.
The Texas Tribune reports that the Biden campaign is stepping up its interest in Texas during the final week of the election. It has launched a surrogate bus tour across the state today, set to last for three days with stops in 14 Texas cities.
