In anticipation of a potential tropical storm in the Rio Grande Valley, multiple cities are now distributing sandbags.
A sandbag fill station has been set up at Fireman’s Park in Mission, Texas.
Bags are limited to seven per residential homes and ten per business.
Roxanne Casares, with the Mission Public Affairs, said, “So it’s never really the wrong time to prepare for severe weather, and the City of Mission just wanted to take a very proactive approach.”
The center will only be open for Monday night, but officials say they will extend help if needed.
