The state of Texas has passed a bill to legalize hemp and remove it from the list of controlled substances.

The move comes from theTexas State Health Commissioner Sid Miller, who is a supporter of industrial hemp production as a bustling market opportunity for Texans.

This comes after the federal 2018 Farm Bill, which allowed State’s to regulate hemp production in their own states.

Hemp, unlike marijuana, doesn’t contain THC; which is the psychoactive principle found in marijuana.

Many say this is a big step for supporters of the use of CBD oils and farmers looking for a new cash crop.

The crop will officially be removed from the list on April 5th, 2019.
