A Texas deputy is in critical condition after being shot in the head early this morning.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s office, the incident began as a traffic stop around 2 a-m in San Elizario.
They said a man and a woman were inside the vehicle, and when they were asked to exit the vehicle by the deputy involved, they opened fire.
The suspects shot the deputy multiple times, including once in the head, but officials say the bullet missed the deputy’s brain.
According to authorities, the suspects threw their weapons and took off running, hiding in a shed down the street.
Both suspects were found and arrested shortly after the incident.
