So fresh and so clean: A&M CC students enjoy clean eating and fresh produce

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Izzy's food pantry at Texas A&M Corpus Christi is serving up fresh produce for students.

It's all part of its monthly "Fresh Food Fridays" event.

Students can take home fresh produce and bread at no cost to them.

It's the university's way to combat food insecurity among college students, all thanks to The Coastal Bend Food Pantry".

In the first 10 minutes, close to 130 students filed into the university center to collect their bags of food.

The university expected a turnout of over 400 throughout the day.

Fresh Food Fridays will continue each month into next spring.
