List: Tornadoes have hit these areas in the past week

A string of tornadoes has ravaged parts of the United States this past week, and now the cleanup is starting. Though many are without power after destruction took out power lines, businesses, homes and more.

Here is a look at what has been happening:

WEDNESDAY, MAY 29, 2019
Reports indicate a tornado touched down in Stanhope, New Jersey. The National Weather Service hasn't yet confirmed a tornado touched down the area where more than 14,000 customers in New Jersey were without power in the wake of the storms.

TUESDAY, MAY 28, 2019
Lawrence and Linwood, Kansas residents were the victims of a large tornado that touched down there Tuesday. Dozens of homes were "all gone," Linwood Mayor Brian Christenson said. Roads were impassable due to downed trees and power lines, and roofs were torn off of many homes, among other types of damage.

MONDAY, MAY 27, 2019 (MEMORIAL DAY)
People in Indiana and Ohio are cleaning up after massive winds and multiple tornadoes swept through the middle of both states on Monday. Storm damage continues to be assessed, but as of Wednesday, May 29, the National Weather Service confirmed at least eight tornadoes in northern and central Ohio alone. The areas around Dayton, Ohio sustained the heaviest damage, with many buildings just completely obliterated. There was one fatality reported the day after the tornadoes in Ohio.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 2019
Jefferson City, Missouri took the brunt of the heavy damage laid out after a tornado ripped through the capital city of Missouri. Three people died. About 25 people were reportedly injured. Massive cleanup efforts are under way there.

TUESDAY, MAY 21, 2019
Historic flooding affected communities throughout Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri during the week of May 21. Strong storms swept through the Kansas City, Missouri area that day and included damaging winds and large hail. Flooding followed as rain continued. As of Wednesday, May 29, every county (77) in the State of Oklahoma was under a state of emergency because of the floods. Six people in Oklahoma died because of the floods and severe storms that have impacted the state. Water was still rising earlier this week.
