LAPD investigates alleged trans hate crime

LOS ANGELES, CA — A group of people from LGBTQ community claim they were kicked out of a Los Angeles a bar after being subjected to transphobic slurs.

Cell phone video captures the moments where three trans-women were kicked out of Las Perlas bar in Los Angeles Friday night.

According to reports there was a verbal altercation between a couple and the group escalating to the couple allegedly saying transphobic slurs.

The exchange was not caught on tape.

The women say they became upset with staff because the couple was not removed. Las Perlas issued a statement saying the manager on duty asked both parties to leave after the altercation and that guards removed the people who did not comply.

The bar went on to say they welcome everyone to their establishment. The LAPD is investigating the incident as a hate crime.

They are now searching for the couple involved in the altercation.

They left the scene before police arrived.
