SAN FRANCISCO, California — Firefighters in Northern California are facing a tough fight as they battle the Glass Fire.
The blaze has scorched more than 60,000 acres in Napa and Sonoma counties. So far it's 8 percent contained.
Fire crews are fighting against high heat, gusty winds, low humidity and rugged terrain. Thick smoke has also largely grounded the air attack against the fire.
Cal Fire says 173 homes have been destroyed in Napa County and 120 more homes in Sonoma County.
Those numbers are expected to grow.
he fire has also destroyed dozens of wineries.
