(NBC) – Police in San Mateo, California are looking for a man accused of stealing a woman’s underwear during an open house and it was apparently caught on camera.
The homeowner’s security camera shows the realtor on the left leaving the potential home buyer alone.
The buyer walks out of frame then comes back stuffing something inside his jacket.
He then goes into another area and comes back with an even bigger bulge in his jacket.
Police say the man had a “noticeable bulge around his abdomen that wasn’t there when he initially walked inside the home.”
The homeowner, who does not want to be identified, believes the man stole his wife’s undergarments.
“Her push-up bras. He stole all of her push up bras from the dresser. I’m shocked, obviously I know there’s people out there like this, but when it comes to your own home I feel a little vulnerable.”
Michael Haobsh, with the San Mateo police department, said, “He is a person of interest in a theft case. We want to get him identified; we want the public’s help to get him identified.”
The realtor says he left the potential buyer alone because many people feel uncomfortable having a realtor hover over them.
But the homeowner says realtors should “not” let potential buyers roam through homes alone.
