Two lucky turkeys have made their first red carpet appearance before President Trump decides on which to pardon for Thanksgiving.
Their names are Peas and Carrots and it’s likely that Trump will choose to pardon both.
The South Dakota birds arrived in Washington DC Sunday and were introduced to at the Willard Continental Hotel Monday.
“They had a wonderful red carpet arrival yesterday and the turnout was amazing. The weather was fantastic,” Markus Platzer, General Manager of Willard InterContinental Washington, said. “The crowd was here and they had a smooth check in. We double checked, they had a wonderful sleep here.”
They are set to meet the president today but only one can truly be named National Thanksgiving Turkey.
