BIRMINGHAM, AL – (NBC) Police will likely not charge the father who shot and killed a masked gunman at an Alabama McDonald’s restaurant.
Investigators say the man walked into the McDonald’s in Birmingham and started shooting Saturday night.
They say the father, who was walking out with his two sons at the time, shot back killing the gunman.
The father and one of his sons were also shot, but are expected to be okay.
It’s not clear yet if the gunman was trying to rob the fast food restaurant or if he was targeting someone.
The shooting is under investigation.
