A suspicious package allegedly addressed to actor Robert De Niro has been removed from a New York City neighborhood by the bomb squad.

The NYPD responded to the scene in lower Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood early this morning.

The address, 375 Greenwich St., matches that of the Tribeca Film Center. Robert De Niro is the founder of the Tribeca Film Festival.

A containment unit could be seen leaving the scene just before 7 a.m. Eastern time.

It is unclear if the package is related to recently mailed pipe bombs.

President Donald Trump lashed out at the media on Twitter  this morning for causing the “Anger we see today in our society.”

This is a developing story. We will post updates as they are received.
