WISCONSIN -(NBC) New video of a Milwaukee bus crash has been released as the investigation into the cause wraps up.
The Milwaukee County Transit bus crashed on May 15, careening out of control into a Marquette University building.
The video shows the bus accelerating through a turn and into the building. The driver’s terror clear across his face.
Five passengers were on the bus at the time of the accident. Driver Calvert Campbell and three passengers reported injuries that were not life-threatening.
After an extensive review of the bus, investigators found everything on the bus was working properly. The transit system says Campbell accidentally hit the accelerator, and video released by Marquette University back in May shows brake lights were never illuminated.
The transit union disputes the claim.
Campbell has been taken off the road for at least six months.
