CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Work has begun on a major road project in the London area.

Nueces County Precinct 4 Commissioner Brent Chesney was at a groundbreaking ceremony Friday for that project.

Commissioner Chesney says the project will provide better access to the London area and hopefully open it up for development.

The cost of the project is $3,000,000 and will take 6 to 8 months to complete.

The roads set for improvement are County Road 49 from FM 43 to FM 2444 and County Road 22 from State Highway 286 to County Road 51.
