CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It looks like the North Beach Task Force may be in jeopardy.
On Friday afternoon, Mayor Joe McComb sent out this email to city council members saying he was closing the task force.
That group was created by city council back in April 2018 to spur development in the North Beach area as well as come up with solutions for the drainage issues.
The council last month approved an ordinance that will allow developers to build a canal - which is expected to fix that drainage issue and ignite development.
In the mayor’s email, he cited that work and congratulated the task force for completing their task.
Tonight, we’ll hear from the mayor for his reasoning behind the decision and the reaction from members of the task force.
