CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Despite warnings from Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni and the Corpus Christi Police Department about a crackdown on illegal fireworks, it was still a sleepless night for many Corpus Christi residents.
One Austin resident who's visiting family in the Molina neighborhood recorded a massive firework display from the front porch of her mother's home.
Hundreds of illegal fireworks can be seen going off in the brief video clip that Maria de la Luz Martinez recorded with her cellphone in the 4300 block of Barrera Drive.
She tells KRIS 6 News that it's become something of an annual tradition to watch the illegal fireworks display on New Year's Eve.
And many other Molina residents came out last night to watch the illegal display put on by their neighbors.
