BANQUETE, Texas — Residents in Banquete got to voice their concerns to their congressman today.
U.S. Rep. Michael Cloud was in town.
The congressman set up one of his mobile offices over at the high school there.
Cloud has his district offices in Victoria and Corpus Christi. But he sets up these mobile office hours in the more rural communities. He says he does it to make sure he hears from all his constituents
“Much of our district is rural,” Cloud says. “So we want to make sure that we’re able to go, as much as we can, to the people to make sure.
“Often people have case work that they need to interact with the federal government on. So we are here to make ourselves available.”
The congressman tells us over the past year he has conducted about 40 of these mobile office visits. In fact, he held a similar event in Taft late this afternoon.
