A toddler was transported to a San Antonio hostpital for treatment after accidentally shooting himself in the face with a flare gun.
The Robstown Police Department issued a statement saying Wednesday it was called to a house in the 300 block of W. Avenue F at around 2 p.m. to investigate a child who had suffered burns.
When they got there, they found that a 3-year-old boy had found a flare gun in a bedroom and mistook it for a toy. He accidentally shot himself in the face.
He was taken by HALO-Flight to University Hospital, where he is being treated for severe burns to his face, the inside of his mouth and arms.
His condition is unknown, and it is unknown whether charges will be filed in the matter.
