New director of the Texas Surf Museum appointed

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas Surf Museum has an new executive director.

Her name is Emily Veazey and she has plenty of education and experience in her field. Since 2014 she has run her own event management company locally with some big clients.

"Clients include the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Management District, Texas State Aquarium and Kleberg Bank," a press release says. "She earned her Master’s degree in Corporate Communications from The University of Texas-Austin in 2001."

Veazey will be in charge of fundraising, communications, strategic partnerships, and support for the sport of surfing and related board sports.

"We are excited to have Emily joining the Texas Surf Museum as our Executive Director,” said Brad Lomax, chairman of the Texas Surf Museum Board of Directors. “Her experience with organization, fundraising, marketing and event management are assets to the Museum. We’re looking forward to Emily’s leadership in engaging the Coastal Bend community with the museum and growing the organization in 2020 and beyond.”

Veazey promises to help the museum grow.

“As Executive Director, I will ensure that Texas Surf Museum continues to reach to fulfill its mission of supporting local surf culture, engaging with our community and advocating on behalf of conservation practices relevant to our Gulf Coast waters,” she said in a press release.
