CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The scene where elementary school teacher Ricky Luna lost his life was near a grocery store near Weber Road where he was involved in a two-vehicle accident.

The suspected drunk driver, 49-year-old Juan Jesus Rivas, is charged with intoxication manslaughter.

He's in the Nueces County Jail with a bond set at $250,000.

We checked out the scene of Saturday night's accident at Weber and Holly.

It’s the spot where 40-year-old elementary school teacher Ricky Luna lost his life when he was struck by a suspected drunk driver. It has been close to 48 hours since the fatal crash.

This is what the scene looked like on Saturday night when Corpus Christi police reported a man had been hit in a rollover accident and was ejected from his car.

Corpus christi Police Department's Lt. Gabe Garcia says the accident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. Saturday. Luna as mentioned was ejected from the jeep in a two-vehicle accident.

School officials have brought in counselors from the Corpus Christi ISD and Tuloso-Midway ISD for grief counseling.

They will be available to help anyone who's struggling with this loss.
