CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Tomorrow is a deadline to pay your property taxes.
Don't panic, it's not the deadline.
Dec. 31 is an IRS deadline for property owners who want to take a tax write off.
“Some CPA's advise their clients to pay the year on or before Dec. 31 if they're gonna take the tax write off for that year.” Nueces County tax assessor/collector Kevin Kieschnick said. “Some say you don't have to, so we always tell people, just talk to your tax advisor and take whatever their recommendations are.”
The deadline we all need to worry about is Jan. 31.
That's the last day to pay your property taxes without penalties or interest.
If you want to avoid long lines, here in Nueces County you can pay online and there's no fee to do that.
