BISHOP, Texas — Two South Texas law enforcement agencies report they arrested a man after leading them on a high speed chase.

The chase happened around 7:30 a.m. after a Bishop police officer noticed a car speeding in the area of Business U.S. Highway 77 and East 6th street.

Bishop police said they tried to pull over the car but the drivet continued driving at a higher rate of speed and allegedly made erratic lane changes in an attempt to evade officers.

Police said the car proceeded to travel southbound on U.S. Highway 77 towards the Nueces/Kleberg County line, continuing into Kingsville, at times reaching speeds in excess of 110 mph.

Bishop PD requested additional help from Kingsville PD as the car drove through Flato Park and eventually stopped at a residence on East Doddridge in Kingsville.

The driver tried to evade police on foot but he was taken into custody.

The suspect was later identified as Espiridion Fonseca,35, from Kingsville, Texas.
