CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We now know the name of the man responsible for firing several gunshots in public Sunday, creating terrifying moments for Calallen resident near a fast-food restaurant.
He's been identified as 27-year-old Luis Hernandez and he’s been charged with deadly conduct, discharging of a firearm within city limits, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
It happened Sunday afternoon around the Five Points area near a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
Corpus Christi police first got a call for a suicide threat, which was later upgraded to a shots fired call.
Hernandez apparently fired several rounds before barricading himself in a car, which led to a standoff with police.
It took about 2 hours for police to de-escalate the situation and take the man into custody.
