CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi police are asking the public to slow down and turn your vehicle around if you see a lot of water on the road.

The strong thunderstorms swept through the city Wednesday afternoon.

According to the AEP Texas outage map, more than 10,000 AEP customers are without power in the Corpus Christi and Flour Bluff area.

CCPD says there are some parts of Everhart Road that are flooded.

Emergency workers had to help drivers after the vehicles stalled along Waldron Road.

According to the AEP website, some parts of Flour Bluff and the city's southside won't have power back up for several hours.

Police say to slow down and turn your vehicle around so your vehicle doesn't get stalled in the water.
