CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Halloween night is only a week away. Several groups already are formulating some big plans for the special evening.

Kids are already facing a deadline for one costume contest.

Due to COVID-19, the annual Halloween with the Hooks has had some changes.

It will now be a drive-thru trick or treat at Whataburger Field. And a virtual costume contest will be held.

The deadline to submit your entry is on Sunday.

You can send your costumes to the Hooks’ Facebook or Twitter page. Or you can email Dan Reiner at dreiner@cchooks.com.

And the pandemic has also forced some changes in the celebration of the holiday in Robstown.

The annual First Responders Festival will now be a drive-thru trick or treating event.

Kids will be able to trick or treat from cars as they travel down Main Street in the city.

The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Halloween.
