CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A long-time Corpus Christi restaurant is changing hands.

Ernie and Corliss Buttler bought a bait stand and burger joint in 1980 that had a 600-foot fishing pier on the Intercoastal Waterway just off the JFK Causeway.

13 years later, Snoopy's would open at that same location.

The family-run restaurant has been open ever since.

Just recently the Buttlers sold the business, but their daughter assures us that the new owner will keep the restaurant just the way it is.

That's a relief to some Snoopy's customers.

“That will be good if it stays the same, because the food was really good and the atmosphere,” loyal customers Debbie and Chuck James said. “We got to sit and look out at the water. It was really nice."

The Buttler family actually lived on a houseboat tied to the Snoopy's dock for many years.
