LIVE OAK, COUNTY — DPS investigators say a single vehicle crash left a 49-year-old Rockport resident dead.
The crash happened on April 27, 2020 at approximately 5:50 p.m., on IH-37, approximately four miles north of Three Rivers in Live Oak County.
DPS Troppers said a 2021 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling north on I-37. For unknown reasons, the driver of truck veered off the roadway, down an embankment striking the payment of the access road below.
The driver was flown via Halo Flight to San Antonio Military Medical Center.
However, 49-year-old August Leo Herrley, a resident of Rockport, Texas, died from his injuries at the hospital.
DPS Troopers are still investigating the fatal crash.
