Veinticinco Años, the celebration of Tejano star Selena's life that was to take place in San Antonio in May, has been postponed. A new date has not been announced.

"There are very uncertain times ahead given the nature of what's going on right now," said Q Productions President and CEO Suzette Quintanilla in a statement. "Our family truly understands everyone's concerns about the COVID-19 virus. We've spent the past several days monitoring the situation and we feel that rescheduling the tribute concert for Selena is in the best interest of everyone."

The show had been scheduled for May 9 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, and was to feature superstar rapper, producer and reggaeton star Pitbull, and musica urbana star Becky G.

"We will continue to monitor the situation to select the best and most responsible date to ensure the safety of everyone coming to the event," Quintanilla said. "It will still be held in San Antonio, Texas at the Alamodome."

This will be the event's first year. It was created after Fiesta de la Flor -- the yearslong festival honoring the Tejano superstar -- shuttered late last year in the city she called home.

Quintanilla said that fans who have already bought tickets for the show can hold onto it and it will be honored on the rescheduled date. Those who would like a refund can contact Ticketmaster Fan Support.

"Our family still looks forward to celebrating Selena's life and legacy with all the fans around the world. The celebration is still happening . . . just a different day," she said.
